Kerstin und Holger

This is the website of Kerstin and Holger. We’re a yuppie couple from Germany. In 2010 we were sick and tired of our corporate careers and headed for a burn-/bore-out-syndrom fast.

We met up in yosemite late in 2010 to figure out what we wanted to do with ourselves after the wedding. Out of all the options, becoming development volunteers and full-time travellers was the most unlikely choice. And the most complex project.

But it was what we wanted to do. So we did.

9 months and a lot of planning, mindmapping and leap-of-faithing later we are married, homeless and everything we own fits in our backpacks. We plan to do at least 12 months of volunteering and charity work.

We have no plans for afterwards. And we like it like that.

Dies ist die Webseite von Kerstin und Holger. Wir sind ein Yuppie-Paar aus Deutschland. 2010 hingen uns unsere Hamsterradkarrieren zum Hals raus und wir waren auf dem besten Weg in Richtung Burn- oder Bore-Out.

Also trafen wir uns im Yosemite Nationalpark, um zu entscheiden, was wir mit unserem Leben nach der Hochzeit anfangen wollten. Von allen Möglichkeiten war “Entwicklungshilfe” die Unwahrscheinlichste, die Komplexeste, die Angseinflößenste.

Und die, die wir wollen. Also entschieden wir, Entwicklungshelfer zu werden.

9 Monate und einige Pläne, Mindmaps und Sprünge ins kalte Wasser später sind wir verheiratet, wohnsitzlos und alles was wir besitzen passt in unsere Rucksäcke. Unser plan ist, mindestens 12 Monate wohltätig zu arbeiten.

Für danach haben wir keine Pläne. Und das ist auch gut so.

    BTW - ich find's toll, dass Ihr so was tolles und gleichzeitig verruecktes wie die Entwicklungshilfe angeht. Werde mich mal hier ein wenig umsehen. Weiterhin alles Gute fuer Euch und VG aus OC California
